Michael Saxe Bjørn

Lead vocals

– rocking his trusty Shure SM 58 Beta A microphone and a Takamine acoustic guitar live on stage

Michael Saxe is the vocalist in the BOWIE tribute lineup, and he supplies some acoustic guitar as well where needed. Michael started playing guitar at 13 years of age, and his first major influences were Jimi Hendrix and Jimi Page. The latter primarily for his acoustic playing. Michaels first band was formed in the 8th grade and named themselves 2late – an inside joke referring to the bands keen sense of time…(!) Later on Michael joined other bands, and he always found it hard to find decent singers, so he ended up just doing it himself. A development that led him to the discovery, that he was actually more interested in writing music and singing, than he was in being a great lead guitarist.

Michaels musical influences are numerous and range from bands like Faith No More and TOOL over SublimeJeff Buckley and – of course – David Bowie, whom he discovered when he picked up a used copy of “The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from Mars” in a small record shop at Vesterbro in Copenhagen. He was completely blown away and never looked back. Michael has a temper and loves attitude and commitment. He also loves reading, writing and running.

Michaels secret performer alias is “Michael Rossmore” on the music scene of LA, USA.
